1. Our Core Principle

Stepset was built to be a safe haven for job seekers. We recognize that the remote job market is unfortunately often plagued by scams, multi-level marketing (MLM) schemes, and low-quality data entry fraud.

To solve this, we do not allow third-party recruiters, staffing agencies, or "middlemen" to post on our platform. Our goal is to connect you directly with the company hiring you.

2. The "No-Agency" Mandate

To ensure authenticity, we enforce a strict Direct Link Policy. When you click "Apply" on Stepset, you will never be redirected to another job board or a generic email address.

You will be redirected to:

  • The company's official Career Page (e.g., careers.swiggy.com).
  • The company's official Applicant Tracking System (ATS) (e.g., Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, BambooHR).

This ensures that your application goes straight to the HR team, and your data remains secure.

3. The Vetting Process

Every job listed on Stepset undergoes a screening process before it goes live. While we use technology to scan the web for opportunities, the final approval is always subject to human oversight.

Our Verification Checklist:

  • Company Legitimacy: Is the company a registered entity with a verifiable digital footprint?
  • Role Authenticity: Is the specific role listed on their official channels?
  • Active Status: Is the application link currently accepting responses?
  • Remote Verification: Does the role explicitly state "Remote," "Work from Home," or "Distributed" availability?

4. What We Reject (Red Flags)

We have a zero-tolerance policy for listings that exploit job seekers. We actively block and remove:

  • Pay-to-Work Schemes: Any job asking for a "security deposit," "training fee," or "registration charge."
  • Telegram/WhatsApp Jobs: Listings that ask you to message a personal number immediately.
  • MLM & Pyramid Schemes: "Be your own boss" schemes that rely on recruiting others rather than doing actual work.
  • Vague "Typing" Jobs: Generic, high-paying copy-paste or form-filling jobs that are commonly associated with fraud.

5. Reporting a Listing

While we strive for 100% accuracy, companies may change their hiring status or modify job descriptions after we have verified them.

If you encounter a broken link, an expired job, or a listing that violates our principles, please report it immediately.
